Overview
Three main projects: Management Report - A Brief history of the Branch - An overview of the customer base - A SWOT analysis on the Branch within its local market - Any recommendations moving forward that have resulted from the SWOT analysis. Intern project - Presentation on Handelsbanken's products and services Branch project set by branch manager. In addition given smaller tasks by branch mentor and given opportunity to shadow IB and CB account managers and meet clients.
Skills
Learned office etiquette as it was my first office job. A lot of banking terminology and how to review accounts.
Responsibilities
You are given a lot of responsibility, from week one I was trusted to answer the phone to clients and email clients on behalf of account managers. Later on in the placement you then meet clients in person and oversee some meetings.
Support & Guidance
You get a branch mentor, HR contact and graduate mentor. So if you have any questions or need any advice there are many points of contact. Also everyone in your branch are more than happy to give you any guidance you need.
Culture
Company culture is ingrained in Handelsbanken staff. They are all aware of the companies goals and ambitions and know how the work they are doing directly impacts this. This means everyone has the positive mental attitude and there is a positive atmosphere as they have the right motivation to succeed in their roles. People in branch have the ability to be relaxed as well as very professional and direct.
