Overview
I was shadowing colleagues on different projects as well as undertaking tasks myself. I would go to meetings, internally and with clients and help prepare slide decs, discuss the project and next steps and analyse data, putting this into charts and tables for clients. I also networked with a lot of people from different areas of consulting and got an understanding of potential future roles.
Skills
Yes. The internship has enhanced my excel and powerpoint skills, as well as learning new skills such as how to use programmes such as mural to create user stories.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was given the right amount of responsibility. I was able to take away and work on tasks but still have the guidance of others on my team.
Support & Guidance
There was plenty of support and guidance, whether from my project team or career coaches and buddies. Going into the office also meant that there were plenty of people to ask for advice and help if needed.
Culture
The culture and atmosphere was lovely. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and had time to talk to you and answer questions, whether they were an associate or partner. There were plenty of social events within the Manchester Associate Network which made me feel like part of the team.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement and would like the opportunity to work for PwC again
Yes
The psychometric testing games at the start were very long and took me two hours, but following that the rest of the application process was good. There were a variety of numerical reasoning and other rounds so a fair amount of time needs to be available when applying. The assessment day was really good, it is important to not be shy during this day and read all the information given well. But overall 100% recommend
