Overview
I work in customer experience assessing known pain points within customer journeys and amending these to create an effortless experience.
Skills
Presentation skills, leadership skills, teamwork
Responsibilities
Quite a lot. I lead my own project so was responsible for engaging with stakeholders and working on data independently, but also presenting my findings back to my manager. I also was able to attend important meetings with senior leaders within the business.
Support & Guidance
So much. I was assigned a placement buddy which was a member on my team who had previously been part of the grad scheme. We had catch up's every day so I always felt I had support and guidance through this. I also had daily check ins with my manager which reassured me I was on track with my work as well as feeling like I wasn't alone despite working virtually.
Culture
Everybody was extremely friendly and welcoming. I was invited along to a team social on my first day which set the tone for my placement.
Your Impressions
I loved every part of it. It was even better than I thought it would be, didn't feel like I spent all summer working as every part of it was enjoyable. Got really lucky with my team who made me feel part of the team from the first day.
Yes
Be yourself all throughout the application process. HSBC aren't looking for people that know everything there is to know about banking, you're more likely to get an offer from the Assessment Centre if you be yourself and be nice to everybody. When you get an offer, take every opportunity you can to step out of your comfort zone and work on your own weak skills!
