Overview
Daily inform on the latest updates in the business and banking system globally. Engage with the other interns in the bank and with teammates to work on projects. Understand the needs of the business in order to think how to change the system and processes followed. Always consider the valance between risk and simplification. Work on assigned projects to deliver them by the stated deadlines.
Skills
We followed several courses on HSBC university and Degreed to develop personal and industry-specific skills as well as Excel training. I have learned to think in a more innovative way and to use feedback and ideas from other stakeholders. I have developed my relationship building approach, my time management. I escalate if I have doubts and I know where to find support from the HSBC system.
Responsibilities
I was given significant responsibilities during my placement. I have worked on a couple of projects on my own and I was helped from other stakeholders for the final review. I did not expected to receive this trust from my manager.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support regarding many different areas: personal and industry-specific. There were many courses and people who supported me.
Culture
The company culture is amazing! Diversity is a core element for the business and everyone feels appreciated. the general atmosphere is very stimulating and interns are helped in many different way.
Your Impressions
I loved the experience both for what concerns the placement work and for the opportunity to meet amazing people. I have strongly connected with the other interns and we created friendships that will endure outside the workplace as well.
Yes
Go for it! Be yourself and be open. Learn to understand how important diversity is and how much you can gain from the ideas and point of view of people who have different backgrounds. Always escalate when you have problems and respect the hierarchy.
