    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Throughout the day you will have lots of meetings, both internal and external, where you will undertake client tasks and work with your team to deliver deadlines. For the majority you will shadow and answer directly to an Associate or Senior Associate and will carry out tasks much like they would do. These tasks can range from formatting and creating decks, analytical roles on excel or delivering client meetings.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • The major skill I have developed is my networking. Networking at PwC is very important as everyone is so friendly and is willing to offer a hand, meaning the more contacts you have the more help you have at your aide. My problem solving skills have also greatly improved as you require quick thinking to come up with solutions for clients problems.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a lot in the end. For one of my projects I ended up leading client meetings and writing up deliverables. During this time I also sent out daily updates and organised meeting to help inform the team about any progress or problems we may have encountered and how we would resolve them.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • My career coach and buddy were amazing. They offered a support whenever I asked and organised weekly check in's to answer any questions and provide points for how I can develop. The team itself were also very helpful and would check-in on you after they had set any tasks. If you were at a loose end everyone, at multiple levels were more than happy to offer work and support.

  • The company was amazing and their main asset is their people. Everyone at the company was very inclusive and would be willing, if not asking, to have a chat. All the people were always very happy because they enjoy the work that they are doing and look forward to going into work. Even when stressed the company will offer their support and can alleviate your workload if needs be.

  • I had a great time on my internship and met some great people. Everyone I worked with gave me lots of opportunities and gave me tasks which would help me achieve my development goals. The work itself was very inclusive and I was given lots of exposure to clients which is what my main goal was. I can't thank PwC enough for this opportunity, it has helped me develop massively.
