Overview
Working with my team to complete placement project tasks. Involved in a CSR project to raise money for charity. Took part in many calls organised by early careers which gave a broad insight into the wider bank.
Skills
Yes. Developed my networking skills as the internship was virtual. Innovation - trying to come up with new ideas to raise money virtually. Presentation - early careers organised a development session where we were given the opportunity to do a 5 min presentation. I was provided feedback and this was a great way to develop my skills.
Business Insight
Very interesting and insightful. Good to see the number of opportunities available and how focused NatWest is on career development and advancement.
Culture
Extremely warm and welcoming. Everyone was very helpful and supportive. Given that the internship was virtual, everyone involved still managed to make us feel welcome and feel part of the company which was great.
Your Impressions
Really thoroughly enjoyed myself. Definitely a company I would come back and want to work for in the future.
Yes
Be yourself! It's cliché but it's honestly so important. Learn more about the purpose of the company and how you would be able to contribute. Learn the critical people capabilities (there are 5) and have examples ready for each of them. This is a key point of discussion in the interview part of the assessment centre. Overall, just show your enthusiasm and passion for wanting to join the bank/the division. Good Luck!
