Overview
My job role during my placement year will consist of several aspects, be of support to the planning and delivery of the marketing programs for the UK and Ireland. Join with team members, suppliers, and others to help create content, format and inputs plans, support events digital or face to face, support different team members in different activities across the marketing department. I will also be creating communications, be internal or external within the company. Join sales to help them progress response and request from customers feedback.
Skills
Yes, focus on communication, from verbal and written, to persuassion and presentation. Worked on my design skills to be better than ever, and worked on my network growth.
Responsibilities
I was lucky enough to be the lead on some of the biggest events in the UK. For example lead the sales and enablement team, which I was given complete freedom and choose whom I wanted to work in my team, I was also given freedom to construct social posts that were sent on social media under the companies name.
Support & Guidance
Lots, everyone has been so welcoming from the start, if I ever had a question I knew I could ask not only my manager but othe people within or outside the team.
Culture
Amazing. IBM has very strict policies in place agaisnt bullying, and other negative aspects that can create a negative enviroment. And there is an openess of be who you are beause it is more than ok, it is welcome.
Your Impressions
For a placement that was mostly done from my bedroom, it was quite good! made lots of contacts and friends. Learnt so much!
