Overview
Involved in marketing campaigns across all channels to both the general public and healthcare professionals. Working to market each of the vaccines within the franchise (HPV, PPV, Shingles, Chickenpox). Work with a range of third parties to bring together marketing materials.
Skills
I have developed a host of new skills through opportunities presented to me during my time at MSD. These include a vast improvement in my marketing capability, and my confidence as a marketeer. I have also improved my communicative skills and feel I am now a far more able presenter.
Responsibilities
I have been given the chance to lead various projects, both in marketing and outside of marketing and have led several teams to deliver timebound projects. I have been placed in charge of key tasks within the franchise as well as budgets etc
Support & Guidance
As well as receiving continued support from Agile One (agency through which I was contracted), I received a large amount of support from both my manager and the wider team. I was made to feel included, even though I was initially working completely virtually, and I have always felt as ease when asking questions or seeking further clarification where needed.
Culture
The company culture was one of the best parts of my experience with MSD. It says a lot that I was made to feel part of the community even though I had never met any of my team and was working from a desk in my bedroom. There were several initiatives in place to support the workforce, as well as regular social events
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement to a large extent. It was a great experience to be able to find out about the pharmaceutical industry and to feel that I am positively impacting the lives of patients.
Yes
It can be helpful to connect with current placement students to find out about their role and to learn more about the company as a whole. While the interview process can appear daunting, it is important to remember that everyone wants you to succeed.
