Overview
Responsible to ensure parts are in the logistics process and shipped to customers on time. Requires running a report by checking Oracle and TipQA to ensure which parts should be picked and put to finished good. Taking lead in weekly deep dive, CCC and BUCC to discuss with various stakeholders on the status of the parts. Ensuring parts are shipped on time for on-time delivery – analysing if the parts can be shipped on time based on inputs from Oracle and TipQA and advising programs managers of a potential solution who then talk to the customer. Managing the exports team to request that items must be shipped for OTD. Helping various teams such as quality release and stores to ease off the pressure. Creating a mini deep dive and taking lead by having a thorough discussion on parts that have not yet been shipped and having a 2 week look ahead for future parts to ensure on-time delivery.
Skills
I have learnt excel skills of writing formulas, creating a pivot table and making queries. I have developed leadership and management skills. Management skills by managing the team and resources around me to ensure parts are shipped on time. Leadership skills by taking action on products that are not shipped and influencing the team on why this product must be shipped and how we can do it. I have also developed leadership skills by being a mentor to the new intern by writing work instructions as well as motivating and giving tips on how to improve. Problem-solving skills increased as my job involved coming up with a solution if a product cannot be shipped or how we can ship the product on time.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was. I was in charge of a business unit, so had to ensure I came on time to work, attended meetings on time and did the job properly - mistakes would be costly to the business so had to be focused. Occasionally had to do some overtime for the job to be completed.
Support & Guidance
Very good support always had someone to help me anytime I was stuck.
Culture
Very friendly and calm atmosphere. I enjoyed coming onsite every day. Very supportive and helpful colleagues and they make you feel at home.
Your Impressions
I did some work overtime and on the weekends, not that I had to, but I enjoyed doing it. I also had the opportunity to do some engineering work to get a wider experience, so I was getting used to both the business's supply chain and engineering side. I also helped colleagues out with work as I like to explore different areas.
