Overview
I worked in three different departments on a rotational basis within my one year placement. Day to day tasks involve working on SAP to complete varied tasks such as inventory management, domestic and international order processing , customer fulfilment and dealing with customer queries.
Skills
I have learnt loads of new and varied skills, during my time in stock control was was able to gains skills such 3PL relationship management, stock discrepancy investigation, monitoring KPI's and inventory management. My time at domestic and international logistics i was able to gain logistics and customer fulfilment coordination skills, sales order processing especially EDI's, dealing and resolving customer queries.
Responsibilities
I was given enough responsibilities during my placement year to be able to develop existing skillset and learn new ones. I had a rigid support structure within the teams i worked in to ensure I reaped the full benefits of my assigned tasks
Support & Guidance
My team mates were always very supportive and ready to help whenever i experienced difficulty, i worked with teammates who were highly knowledgeable of their areas of responsibility which was very crucial for my steep learning curve . My managers were all very professional yet approachable and they gave me the space to develop myself with less supervision but always there to help out.
Culture
The company culture was one that laid a lot of emphasis on an inclusive and collaborative working environment. This really helped me to quickly settle in and start contributing positively to the company
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement year because i worked with fun loving teammates who were very competent in what they did and always ready to lend a helping hand. Although my placement happened during the peak times of Covid-19 the company offered so much support to ensure my placement year was as meaningful as possible
Yes
If you are thinking of applying to C&D go for it!! this is an excellent company and you'll learn so much during your placement year. The teams and managers are highly competent and offer excellent support structure to the interns and the prospects of career development are very high.
