Overview
- In charge of making sure the business partners were up to date with any updates within the ecosystem. - Was in charge of helping the team put together new events for our current business partners within the ecosystem - Been involved in a plethora of projects such as onboarding new partners, helping expand our business partners social media presence, conducting a monthly newsletter to our BPs etc
Skills
I've developed the skill of public speaking. Once a month I would have to present back to my manager a presentation of an application I have learnt in the month. This really helped me get out of my comfort zone. A big part of IBM is teamwork and working together with people in teams. This has been a massive skill I have learnt since being here
Responsibilities
I was, I was in charge of conducting a newsletter to over 100 business partners every month. I was also in charge of helping us onboard a big partner into the ecosystem. I enjoy responsibility because I thrive under pressure.
Support & Guidance
I got a lot of great help, especially at the start. As the year went on and I understood more help wasn't as needed but whenever I asked people would always be open to helping
Culture
A very nice welcoming place to be. Everyone was very kind and easy to get along with. From the managers to the early professionals. There is a clear culture at the company which I heavily resonate with.
Your Impressions
I really did enjoy it! Working in a team was good because I had people to rely on but also people who relied on me. I felt I thrived in this environment. In terms of the company as a whole, its openness to people from all walks of skillset is something which I really value. In this area, the company did exceed my expectations. And I would go back yes
Yes
Be yourself. It sounds very cliche but the truth is they aren't trying to employ the perfect version of you because that doesn't exist they want people who are open to learning and can reflect on where they need to improve. This was what was told to me in my interview as to why I got the role, I was very open to learning.
