Overview
Daily roles include working on projects, completing daily tasks, shadowing employees and networking.
Skills
I have developed my excel skills dealing with large amounts of data. I have also improved my presentation skills and confidence in giving presentations.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility. Projects I worked on were important for the team and will be used in the future.
Support & Guidance
I was given a lot of support and had daily chats with my manager and buddy. I also had a mentor who gave support from outside of the team.
Culture
General atmosphere was very friendly. Everyone smiled at me and stopped to talk and ask me questions. I got on really well with the teams I worked with and enjoyed the culture of being able to talk to and spend time with anyone in the firm.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement and was sad when it came to an end. I went into the office everyday with a smile on my face and felt ready to learn and be challenged.
Yes
I would say that personality is a huge factor, they look to whether you fit in with the culture and whether other employees would like to work with you. Also being open to challenge and showing a passion for the role you are applying for. Grades are not the most important factor, neither is the subject you study.
