Overview
My role involved a lot of asset management, creating assets and managing the review process, ensuring they were available in a timely manor. Beyond this I had opportunities to lead on various projects, such as the brands congress plan. Working in marketing, the role involves a lot of stakeholder management, and therefore you are expected to lead numerous calls and build effective relationships across the organisation.
Skills
Many: Networking, confidence, presenting skills, pro-activity
Responsibilities
I was given lots of responsibility. This is stage-gated, so at first you're eased into the role, and then you're given more throughout the year depending on your capacity and how you're faring.
Support & Guidance
You get a great support network. My manager and I caught up on a weekly basis, I also had regular catch ups with the rest of my team as well as my mentor.
Culture
Company culture is pretty good. Everyone is generally pretty welcoming, despite how busy most people are.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement overall. The pharmaceutical industry is pretty unique and can take some adapting to (especially whilst working remotely), however the longer I spent working the more I grew to enjoy it.
Yes
Make sure you know the sector you're applying to, whether that be pharma, consumer or med devices. Look into the company's credo, as this is a huge part of what Johnson and Johnson stand for.
