Overview
Providing engineering support to various projects. Daily tasks involve laboratory work, data analysis, CAD work, prototyping using 3D printing, managing suppliers.
Skills
Improved technical skills such as CAD modelling. Developed project and people management skills.
Responsibilities
A lot of responsibility was given to me during the placement enabling me to have real impact on some of the high-priority projects of the company.
Support & Guidance
The placement started with a comprehensive induction period where I learned about the industry, the company and the different departments and teams. Technical training was provided by my line manager to enable me to succeed in my role. Throughout the placement we had workshops to improve important professional skills such as creating successful presentations and posters.
Culture
People were very welcoming and it was easy to settle into both my smaller and wider team. Everyone was helpful and happy to help with any work or career related question. A great atmosphere in general.

I enjoyed the placement very much. The work I did was both interesting and meaningful which gave me great satisfaction.
Yes
Research the company well before the interview process. BAT takes pride in its sustainability initiatives and its focus on reducing the health impact of smoking. These are great talking points for the interview.
