Overview
The work is related to providing public health services to facilitate buildings these include water services, drainage and fire suppression services. I am given tasks to complete on projects the engineers are currently working on. Some of these tasks include excel sheet calculations, editing schematics on Revit or Autocad, some modeling work on software's such as IESVE.
Skills
Definitely been able to improve my skills in using software's such as IESVE, Revit and Autocad. I get to improve my peoples skills as well working with different people and stepping out of my comfort zone.
Responsibilities
I feel like the work I do is important to real life projects being carried out so there is a big sense of responsibility when it comes to the work I do. The tasks are occasionally small or they are very time consuming, the difficultly level varies, nevertheless they are all vital in the planning and execution stages of any project.
Support & Guidance
Everyone is very nice and helpful, they involve me in meetings and are always very welcoming to questions. Everyone is always ready to help and guide me through the tasks.
Culture
Everyone was very friendly, there was definitely a sense of community and collaboration, there was a general very friendly atmosphere and a genuine connectedness between all the team members.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it very much, I was inspired by the work they do. It definitely gave me much needed perspective on the work expected from me in the future as an aspiring engineer. I got to learn about the different disciplines in the industry and how they come together. It was a chance for me to grow as an individual in numerous ways.
Yes
The experience is unique and special and its a very big opportunity to learn. Its a chance for you to experience what it would actually be like working in the field in the future.
