Overview
Prepare a newsletter in the morning which contains a summary of the most important news which takes about an hour Ask your Line manager for more work wait 3 hours for a response be told they will send something over soon after an hour if you're lucky you'll get some useless administrative task if unlucky I'll get an email the next day apologising for not sending anything.
Skills
Not really, the only value skill wise I received form the internship come from Linkedin learning to which i got free access. No value whatsoever from LLoyds Banking Group itself.
Responsibilities
Regardless of all attempts to gain more responsibility by asking for more work no real work is given. There seems to be no interest in the intern obtaining any value
Support & Guidance
There is no support or guidance during the internship. There is a lot of BS ESG and mental health focused PR but its only superficial
Culture
The whole company seems bent on being mediocre. There is no culture of excellence just cruising and hardly trying. I guess the people are friendly but that doesn't help when youre just wasting your time for 8 hours a day
Your Impressions
I did not enjoy it at all. The line manager does not care if you obtain any value or do any interesting work, all that is important is that you appear online on Microsoft Teams for your prescribed work day. The internship is a waste of time, it seems important to secure an internship but if its one at lloyds then do literally anything else as there is no value apart from the name
