Overview
In my sales role, I was working within the sales team, we had a morning sales meeting each day. Throughout the day, my tasks changed depending on what I was working on. In my role, the tasks/jobs I was doing included - Liaising and working with Free Trialists, Learning about our eCommerce offering and helping sell the solution, Following up on Prospect’s Free Trial Marketing campaigns, Carrying out various Lead Generation tasks, Working on my own Sales opportunities and supporting the team on larger deals.
Skills
Yes, I have developed plenty of new and existing skills. From the beginning of our training and throughout my placement year I have continually grown and developed my skillset.
Responsibilities
Yes, throughout my placement I was given responsibility and trusted with speaking/working with existing customers, new customers and free trialists of our software. As soon as we finished our training, I was given plenty of responsibility within my role.
Support & Guidance
The support/guidance was good throughout the year and I always felt as though I could ask any question or ask if I needed help from anyone. This meant I settled in quickly to work at ProspectSoft. However, there was minimal feedback throughout my placement and as I was working from home, I think some feedback would have helped me to carry out the job more effectively. Things such as reviews and feedback to let me know how I was getting on would have helped.
Culture
The general atmosphere was good and everyone was easy to get along with. Everyone was very welcoming and I felt included from the start of my placement. The social opportunities were very limited due to the fact that for 8 of the 10 months we were working from home. We did have a few socials and in person meetings towards the end of our placement which was a good way to finish the year.
Your Impressions
I did enjoy my placement. It was great to gain the experience of working in the sales department at ProspectSoft and everyone I worked with was great fun and very welcoming. It was a lot different to what I expected as we were working from home which was challenging. However, it was a great experience to have and I thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone at ProspectSoft.
Yes
Just be yourself and enjoy the process. The experience of interviews and assessment centres is great and not as scary as you would think!
