Overview
Support the study team on multiple phase 1-4 vaccine trials. Attend meetings, review documents, prepare presentations, keep up with larger projects.
Skills
Developed communication, teamworking, leadership, and organisation skills. Learned medical writing skills and clinical trial specific standard operating procedure skills. Specifically, I improved my presenting, team management, and deadline completion skills.
Responsibilities
Plenty, I was responsible for the review and updates of the weekly screening log that was essential for study record collecting. I was the primary author of a study methodology paper, and I was responsible for organising meetings internally, with the external sites and suppliers, and chairing regular study updates to wider team.
Support & Guidance
I was privileged enough to be mentored by 2 amazing line managers who always helped me with any issue I had, no matter how major or minor. I also worked with study teams that were always happy to help and support my onboarding, development, and progress.
Culture
Company culture was very friendly, it seemed, within the clinical scientist group, people enjoyed each other's company and it showed through the work that was produced by the study teams and sites. Regardless of where people were situated on the globe, we all had a common goal that we helped and supported one another to achieve. I was never afraid to ask anyone a silly question.
Your Impressions
To put it simply, I am dreading my end date.
Yes
Gain any prior experience, apply knowledge and experience you learned at university, and always be humble and approachable during the application day.
