Overview
The virtual work experiences began with a nice introduction. They explained the difficult nature of commercial law but also the joy of completing a high-level M&A deal. This event increased my motivation to become a corporate/commercial lawyer.
Skills
I have learnt that I need to increase my attention to detail skills. This is a crucial skill that is needed within the legal sector, this was made very clear in the insight day.
Business Insight
It was very motivational, as it allowed me to understand the plethora of options available to me after I complete my law degree. Due to my upbringing, I have always had a business-focused mind and this insight day has further increased this mindset.
Culture
From what I had witnessed, it was a friendly work culture where everyone felt very close to one another. The atmosphere felt very friendly and not competitive, which I really like.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it to a large extent. Even though it was a virtual experience, I had the opportunity to learn a range of different things.
Yes
One tip I would give to others who are applying to Baker Mckenzie is to do thorough research into the firm before applying.
