Responsibilities
I think I progressively got more and more responsibility throughout the year. I was pleased with the level of responsibility I had in the end but wouldve hoped to have reached that level a bit earlier than I did.
Support & Guidance
Working in a large plant and a large company there is a wide range of support from people within the plant and those in your function internationally too. I never felt embarrassed or scared to ask anyone about any questions and doubts so support was very good.
Culture
As the year progressed everyone became more comfortable with eachother and the atmosphere was good in the work environment. There is a good blend of being efficient and not burning yourself out by having some social interactions.
Your Impressions
I definitely enjoyed the experience. A big part of enjoying the year was being apart of a large cohort of students and we all socialise together both in and out of work. This is essential as for a lot of people they are moving away from university/home to take this placement.
Yes
Do some company research before and more importanly research each individual plant so you have an idea of what they all do as you are asked early on in the hiring process which plant you would like to prioritise.
