Overview
Data analytics (Excel and Python) and automation (self-initiated and not expected of interns); market research and analysis; creating client-facing decks and materials; assisting with administrative tasks such as hosting meetings, taking minutes, creating internal newsletters, etc.; presentations to seniors
Skills
General Excel skills, automating Excel through Python (self-learned), finance (in particular treasury and global trade), presentation skills, office etiquette.
Responsibilities
Extensive responsibility - I fortunate enough to work on projects where I could take initiative and lead large portions. I would say that this is on a case-by-case basis - dependent on the intern, the team they work with, management, etc.
Support & Guidance
High level of daily support and guidance throughout.
Culture
Competitive and fast-paced. EMEA may lack female representation in contrast to North America.
Your Impressions
Very enjoyable and eye-opening.
Yes
Research the division you are applying to thoroughly and demonstrate in interviews - for instance, TTS is heavily product-based and a lot of information about these products can be found publicly online, so you should learn some and explore one or two in-depth that interest you. They don't expect you to understand how the company is structured unless you have previous experience in a bank.
