Overview
Equity Research financials: I was assigned to the collection on reports and databases, chart creation and interpretation of 2 ESG research notes, involved in the top picks process and drafting. Attended team meeting, morning calls, client calls. GSP- Residential finance: Helped in the automation of RWA tests on Bank of England tape, created stratification tables for pool of loans of facilities, created comparable tables for case studies meant for client, shadowed client calls. Attended meeting catch up.
Skills
Hard skills: navigate trough haver analytics database, ESG dashboard, Bloomberg terminal, research connect. Honed my excel and power point skills. RWA calculation and unsecured retail loans computation from annual consolidated reports. Soft skills: presentation skills, how to be concise and effective, networking skills, time management.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of exposure and trust in terms of soundness of data and sharing power point presentation with clients
Support & Guidance
I was called at least twice a day by both my desk managers, and spent hours answering my technical doubts and describing their jobs
Culture
Constructive learning is the key word. People spend hours heling you understand concepts and deepening you knowledge in topics that interest you, and want to make sure you feel comfortable asking questions. Also, the team is really diverse and people are super nice in making sure you are involved in everything
Your Impressions
I loved it and I think is a life changing experience, in 10 weeks you grow personally and professionally, make new friendships, discover a new Citi and new passions
Yes
I would say try to be consistent with your interests and your personality and demonstrate intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn and open mindfulness. You come here to learn and the attitude is what count the most.
