Overview
Varied project work - specifically completing analysis within excel and reviewing documents that were presented to various teams at the end of my internship. Additionally, attending meetings and networking with individuals across the bank.
Skills
Developed and learnt skills in communication (specifically, with individuals of varying seniority and different backgrounds), analytical skills and public speaking.
Responsibilities
I was given my own specific task to work on - despite only covering a small area of a much larger puzzle the work appeared to be meaningful and a genuine contribution, it required me to work with people from different areas of the bank which provided great exposure to the business.
Support & Guidance
Corona provided some specific challenges around being virtual, however, I had a lot of support from my manager who met with me every morning. I was also assigned a buddy who was a junior analyst who I could ask day to day questions and a mentor who helped by navigating the bank. Additionally, everyone on my team was more than willing to provide me with support and guidance.
Culture
The bank put on a lot of talks from senior staff and additional social events which helped build a good report amongst the team. A large focus was placed on ESG and opportunities to volunteer.
Your Impressions
The work was challenging but very enjoyable which was helped by the support given by the team. I would certainly like the opportunity to go back.
Yes
