Overview
the majority of it starts with any emails that I may need to reply to. Then, I tend to get on with work that will either be a continuation of what I was doing previously or the start of a newer project.
Skills
I've learnt so many new skills. from using programs like SQL, Microsoft access, IBA analyser. More importantly I've learnt how to deal and gather large amounts of data in order to do my role. something that I feel will be very useful in my career.
Responsibilities
I've been given quite a bit of responsibility. I've been working solo on some projects. None of my work is 'checked' so it was important that I got it right before giving out any information that I may obtain from it. - Some of my work was used to support budget needs for large costly repairs.
Support & Guidance
I've always felt as though I've had alot of support from everyone I've had the pleasure to meet. Whether that was in person or just over a skype call. Due to the pandemic I had to be very comfortable in just e-mailing or calling someone I've never met - 100% of the time they couldn't be more helpful
Culture
As someone who has worked in industry previous to my studies I feel as though Tata is one very special place. Everyone I meet is happy and welcoming and enjoy their job. So many people having worked for the company for 20/30 years and still enthusiastic about their work.
Your Impressions
I've loved every minute of it. I feel as though the managers that I've been working under have gone above and beyond to ensure that the pandemic didn't affect my placement too much. Giving me a great experience while ensuring my safety was not compromised.
Yes
Be prepared for massive amounts of data. Enjoy yourself and get involved with as many projects as possible! As for as many tours as possible. Get as much out of the placement as possible.
