Overview
My role was to help provide investment servicing and advice covering markets and strategic considerations, such as managing assets and liabilities. As part of my day to day, I would help to create key documents for clients, and also attend calls and make notes. I had the change to attend webinars to expand my knowledge surrounding the markets and upcoming trends. I also helped to change reporting styles internally.
Skills
Yes, I have learnt many new skills and developed old skills - Effective communication, writing content for clients, how to use economic assumptions, working in Excel, time-management
Responsibilities
Yes, I was asked to help on many documents and pitches. However, given that my role was very junior, I didn't get to partake in any client interactions.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support and guidance. The whole firm is incredibly willing to help and give guidance. In particular, there was a buddy scheme, so I was able to work with a graduate on my team throughout the internship. This was incredibly useful.
Culture
Company culture and general atmosphere was fantastic. Everyone was incredibly helpful and kind, and it was easy to approach people with questions. The firm is very welcoming, and has a strong focus on diversity and inclusion, which is encouraging.
Your Impressions
I did really enjoy my placement, and I would definitely consider taking the graduate role.
