Overview
I worked with a the clients, marketing and communication (CMC) team for the north completing a range of tasks including managing project sheets, bidding and internal CVs. I also have a lot of work based around COP26 which involved interacting with people in the Scotland and Northern Ireland offices. I was also able to complete some work around macroeconomic trends and research their affect on Arup when working wit the economics team.
Skills
I have developed my communication skills significantly both written and verbally as I have been writing up pieces for the company about recent projects for the CMC team. I have also been able to attend team meetings over Microsoft Teams and worked with people across the UK which has allowed me to improve my teamwork sills. I have also been able to progress my digital skills with the training provided.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility when managing my tasks from the beginning but always had people to ask if I needed help.
Support & Guidance
I receive a lot of support from a wide range of people no matter what work I am completing. Every time I have asked anyone for guidance or advice they have been quick to respond and very helpful. Co-workers will often check in with me to make sure I am okay.
Culture
Arup is a very friendly company, my first day in the office I was introduced to loads of people. Everyone I have spoken to has been really helpful nothing is to big of an ask and i have been made to feel very included at all times.

Yes
Take as many opportunities as you can and if there is anything you would like to be involved in, just ask often you will be able to learn a lot. Meet and talk to as many people as you can when you start as you will meet some fascinating people and ask them questions about their role, how they got into Arup etc. There are so many different job roles, tasks and projects to get involved in.
