Skills
Excel proficiency, financial literature and understanding, online communication skills and adaptability, actively seeking feedback for growth and development. Development of business affinity and resilience to achieve certain outcomes.
Responsibilities
Throughout this internship I have gained more of an insight into Lloyds Banking Group and the ways of working. After initial IT issues, I was given more and more responsibilities and tasks to complete, including involvement in some project work with clients.
Support & Guidance
A significant amount of support from my team, line managers as well as graduates and colleagues from other teams. Everyone was always willing to put in time to speak to you or give guidance or advice on how to perform a specific task.
Culture
Very welcoming, helpful, supportive and friendly. There was also a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and interests which was good to see.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship largely due to the experience and skills I have gained from it but also due to the working environment and people associated to LBG, who offered such a welcoming, friendly environment. Despite being online for my internship, it has also been useful to network virtually both with current interns and graduates, as well as colleagues within the business. I would definitely recommend this internship to future penultimate undergraduates seeking an insight into financial banking.
Yes
-Make sure you research the company, its values, its behaviours, what it stands for. -Gain an understanding of your interests and what line of work you would be interested in (i.e. financial, commercial, retail). -Try to practice psychometric and numerical reasoning tests -Get an understanding of your skill-set and areas that you can develop -I would have loved to have known more financial literature and acronyms before I started, however the internship helped me to develop this
