    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Worked two days a week in Sales department, completing many projects. Created presentations on different customer types and key themes driving the asset management industry. Reached out to clients to share new tools and solutions, and gain intelligence on their workflow/structure of the company... Worked two days a week in Analytics department, completing trainings to learn more about finance, the terminal and more Bloomberg solutions. Also carried out phantom chats to practice assisting clients and made Product Deployment calls to clients to educate them about tools on the Terminal. Did calling campaigns on Friday.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • - Gained a lot of knowledge on finance. Coming from an engineering background this has helped me massively! - Learnt a lot about Bloomberg and its importance in the financial industry. Got experience with navigating on the Terminal, using functions to access different pages. - Implemented tools to approach clients and maintain detailed conversations with them, providing assistance and finding tools to optimize their process.

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was definitely given a lot of responsibility during my internship, being allowed to call clients from large companies including BNP Paribas, JP Morgan and many more.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a lot of guidance during my placement. I had an analytics manager, analytics mentors, sales manager and sales mentor to support me throughout the internship, with at least weekly meetings with each of these.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • A lovely atmosphere. Very respectful people and with great values. Everyone is willing to help you out and share their knowledge/experience with you. There were also many social activities to get to know everyone. Many sessions about different cultural groups/support within Bloomberg.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed the internship. Although I was remote, they really made sure to include remote interns as best as possible and make sure we were not at a disadvantage. I learnt a lot throughout the internship and also had a lot of fun! Really recommend this experience.
