Overview
Producing and verifying performing of a new automated way of producing specific forecasts.
Skills
I learnt a great deal in meteorology and also skills in working with unix. I gained a greater understanding of working with inside a large organisation. They offered plenty of resources and training.
Responsibilities
I was given a great deal of responsibility but I never felt out of my depths. I felt genuinely respected by other members of staff and never felt like "the intern".
Support & Guidance
My managers was always very supportive and provided valuable guidance in helping proceed with my work. I also felt I had great freedom on how to approach and solve problems.
Culture
Members of the company always seemed very welcoming and kind. They also seemed always interested in the work I was working on.
Your Impressions
The placement was great and I would love to go back. I would definitely recommend the Met Office to anyone.
