Overview
Day to day involved attending different workshops, interviewing different members of staff, research task and group task -- both assessed.
Skills
You learn a significant amount about Allen & Overy, as well as how as a lawyer we can make a big difference.
Business Insight
Very eye-opening and helpful. Clear progression paths and the training contract as a whole.
Culture
Very inclusive and friendly. There is a perception that Magic Circle law firms are elitist and filled with people who are ultra-high class and traditional makeup. This could not be further from the truth. As someone from a very diverse background, I felt incredibly welcome from the start and throughout the scheme.
Your Impressions
I loved it so much I have accepted a training contract with the firm!
Yes
Be yourself in the application form and answer the test logically. Then for the assessment centre read very fast and structure your presentation. During the interview on the case study, I found it best to say your thoughts out loud and then use them to justify your answers rather than think then say without proper thought.
