Overview
Attending meetings, taking notes and developing colleague network. Working on a plethora of tasks ranging from creating campaign briefs, giving feedback to agencies and renewing expiring assets. Developing acquisition and engagement briefs for multiple projects at once.
Skills
I have learnt the skill of storytelling and developing engaging PowerPoint presentations. I have developed my marketing skills, and even learned a few new ones in terms of understanding customer fresco make ups.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility. I was not constantly monitored and was rather left to my own devices to complete my tasks, with support around whenever I needed it. I was also entrusted to complete creating an engagement brief on my own and was given constructive feedback afterwards to help develop my skills further.
Support & Guidance
No matter what the task is/was, or what question(s) I had - the team was VERY supportive in helping me learn the technical terms, develop my skills and complete my work accurately and proficiently.
Culture
LBG’s culture is unmatched, they are very diverse whilst still maintaining inclusivity. I felt as though I was genuinely supported in both developing my current skills as well as learning new ones. I was further allowed the option to learn using well-known course providers (free of charge). Furthermore, you are left to be responsible to complete your own work at your pace (which can really alleviate stress)!
Your Impressions
I absolutely loved my internship and would recommend anyone who has the opportunity available to them to join! It has been an amazing experience and has taught me a lot about myself, the ‘corporate’ world and what to expect when I graduate! I’m keen to return back to LBG when I do.
Yes
Be honest about who you are, they will likely match your skillset to a job you’re going to do well in/succeed in. Make sure to ask questions, be curious, show genuine interest in the LBG culture, values and prospectives. And once you’re in - try your best to network as well, as there are so many different parts that make up LBG it would be a shame to miss out on them!
