Overview
I was working on a project nearing the execute stage and so I mainly reviewed supplier documentation, checked bp standards and values were being met and witnessed the factory assessment tests of packages.
Skills
I have developed my presentation and business communication skills, I have also learnt and understood how a package progresses from order to shipment for construction. As well as this I learnt how to prioritise work and some technical knowledge, e.g. reading P&IDs and using new document storage sites.
Responsibilities
I felt like I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility given the short period that I was with the team and the company
Support & Guidance
I received an adequate amount, if I needed support I was encouraged to ask but I was also not given work which tested me to a point beyond my capabilities very often.
Culture
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! You feel like everyone wants you to do well and there is no judgement when you ask questions or need support.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the internship despite it being virtual, I think there could have been an opportunity to set up groups of interns with similar disciplines to create some social atmosphere but it still worked really well!
Yes
Be calm and use the experience as something to learn from. Make sure you're ready to answer technical questions but also show your people skills and how you communicate and include others.
