Overview
Helping out and assisting in the delivery of projects. The type of work I did depended on what was necessary for the specific project, for example helping out with data management or completing ecological surveys etc.
Skills
Yes! I learnt so much and picked up so many skills when using GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro as well as generally in how a project is delivered and how the teams function and work together.
Responsibilities
Yes- I was given specific tasks which contributed to actual projects as well as being given the opportunity to develop something which could provide highly useful for the company and with the prospect of winning more work.
Support & Guidance
I had weekly catch up meetings with my supervisors and formed bonds with certain team members that I found easy to talk to and ask questions. I also had a ‘buddy’ who helped settle me in and helped me throughout when needed.
Culture
It was very welcoming and friendly. When going into the office I was also always welcomed to join people for lunch and found it easy to meet people and form connections.
