Overview
My role as a summer intern is to support the team in whatever way is needed. As such, my day-to-day work includes everything from making slides for pitches, screening, updating models to research, data finding and admin work.
Skills
I have learnt a lot of industry specific technical skills and also further improved on soft skills including time management and attention to details
Responsibilities
Yes I was and I benefited a lot from Jefferies' flat structure as I was able to work directly with someone more senior such as VPs closely during my internship
Support & Guidance
I received tremendous amount of support from literally everyone on the team. My buddy was always there for me whenever I needed help and our staffer always called us to check up on us. I also received much support from the team for my intern project. People on the team not only reduced my workload the day before my project deadline but also had 1-2 hrs long call with me despite their busy schedule to answer my questions regarding my project. They were beyond helpful.
Culture
Jefferies has a very visible flat structure and everyone is super approachable. We have had at least 5-6 session with the CEO and also other various senior speakers which allowed us to know Jefferies better and receive advice from senior figures. Team wise, everyone is super friendly and despite the virtual environment, they try their best to give us clear instructions for work by always calling us to explain before asking us to do anything.
