Overview
Starting the day with daily stand up meetings, we would review incoming tickets, and sort them by priority before assigning them. I worked with another intern on one project the whole internship, which involved upgrading a library used in lots of company software.
Skills
I strongly developed my C++ skills. I learnt how to work in an agile way with a team. I learnt how to use tools like Jira, Jenkins, Github, and Visual Studio in order to collaborate effectively and streamline the development process.
Responsibilities
Yes, we were given a large degree of autonomy to complete our project, which had a real world impact as it was used in a key product.
Support & Guidance
We had daily check ups with our scrum team, and regular meetings with supervisors, who were rotated on a fortnightly basis.
Culture
There were a variety of intern events that we could attend, even remotely.
Your Impressions
I found the work stimulating and the work environment was beneficial to my development as a software engineer.
Yes
Polish mathematical skills, as the interview questions were not necessarily all programming focused.
