Commercial Summer Inter Review

Half of the internship consisted of workshops where we learned about the different channels within Pepsico including sales, marketing, grocery, ecommerce, out of home and more. The workshops often included working in small teams to produce presentations regarding the relevant channel. The other half of the internship was spent working in the field, shadowing an SDR, or selling pipers crisps into retailers across London.

I have learned a vast amount of information through the numerous workshops, regarding the nuances of product development and marketing. The various tasks throughout have helped me to developed my leadership and presentation skills. I have hugely developed my practical skills within sales, from the learning workshops as well as putting it into practice in the field.

We worked independently for 1 week with the task of selling crisps into retailers. Other than that we were largely supported by workers at Pepsico, our line managers and the other interns.

I was really impressed by the level of support we received during the internship. Our line managers were responsive to any queries at all times of the day and so many people from the company welcomed us to contact them for any further help or advice. The cohort of interns also worked well to support each other throughout.

The company culture was incredibly supportive and encouraging of us to reach out, be curious and connect with as many people as possible.

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship as it was very informative and helped me to develop a wide range of my personal skills. I met many inspiring people who I hope to continue contact with in the future.
