Overview
My role was providing key reports - be that weekly, monthly, or quarterly. The days were very structured with you knowing what needs to be done. The only time this would change is if there was any ad-hoc work, or queries/errors with previous reports.
Skills
I learnt a plethora of excel skills as this is the basis of the job. Alongside this, how to work in a diverse work environment, how to manage your own work load, and be responsible for the quality of work.
Responsibilities
Yes, lots. I previously thought you would be almost an assistant. However, you're treated as an actual worker - given opportunities to lead presentations, focus groups, and become confident providing analysis on the areas you're involved in.
Support & Guidance
At the start of the placement, my manager and I had a daily catch up to make sure I was OK. After the first 2 months, that changed to a weekly catch up. But, if you ever needed any help everyone is there to help - just have to drop them a message.
Culture
I was working from home so didn't fully experience the atmosphere. But from what I have seen from pictures and heard in social calls they have social events away from work, and many physical activities put on through the week - including weekly football games.
Your Impressions
Went beyond my expectations, and will be applying for the Graduate programme.
Yes
During the assessment centre just be yourself. The interviewers are normally the line manager/s you will be under. Everyone is very nice, don't be scared.
