Overview
We would start the day off with a standup. We would discuss what we're currently working on and whether we need any help. We would also have sprint planning and retrospective meetings at the start and end of the sprints. Generally, we would together or individually on our project as well as attending development and insight events/meetings. I also spent some of the days on the Udemy learning TypeScript.
Skills
In the projects, I learned all the skills and tools required to tackle the problems that come with large projects. We wouldn't just churn out code but also manage it to maintain quality and avoid catastrophe. We were given tools such as Udemy to help us learn and develop. Because of the size of the company, it was easy to find an expert in every technology and they were always keen to help.
Responsibilities
We had enough responsibility to feel challenged and engaged.
Support & Guidance
It really was amazing how hard the team worked to provide us a great experience. They really went above and beyond to ensure we learned and gained as much as possible from the internship. We were able to get support on-demand and had sessions where we would evaluate the process so far.
Culture
I noticed every employee I met was very passionate about their role. You could feel it as they talked you through what they do or helped you. From the interns to the CEO, there was a kindness and eagerness to help.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed getting to know my team and solving problems with them. I also enjoyed getting to know others from different parts of the company.
