Skills
Definitely! The scheme tested my time management as we had to balance our work alongside the meetings and calls we scheduled. The scheme also gave me a great insight into the work trainees actually do.
Business Insight
The scheme did a great job in teaching us about the day-to-day work that commercial lawyers actually do. Many people I spoke to also gave me great research resources to help me gain knowledge on Linklaters' work even after the scheme.
Culture
Everyone was extremely friendly and approachable! Anyone I asked made time for me and was very willing to teach me. My supervisors were also extremely supportive and my practice area team got me involved in weekly meetings. I felt very comfortable and welcomed throughout my time on the scheme.
Your Impressions
It was the best vacation scheme I participated in. I enjoyed all aspects of it - the learning, getting to meet new people and even the work! I highly recommend this vacation scheme.
Yes
Prepare for technical questions in the assessment centre - especially how a M&A deal works. Have strong motivation for the firm and commercial law - and have personal examples to show this.
