Responsibilities
Yes, each student was assigned a project with a scope and clear objectives to be achieved at the end of the placement. This project was entirely the students' responsibility and meant that there was a piece of work that we could present at the end.
Support & Guidance
Each student was assigned a supervisor. In my case, I was assigned two supervisors who helped me in day-to-day queries. I also had a line manager and the wider team was also very welcoming and willing to help. Generally, I felt very supported by everyone working at AZ, particularly during the pandemic.
Culture
Very relaxed and informal. Working hours were flexible as long as the hours were completed each week and dress code was casual, which made everyone a lot more comfortable in the working environment. Despite the pandemics, we were able to see colleagues over lunch or coffee breaks and we had a leaving-do at the end of my placement. It was a generally diverse team, people from difference backgrounds, races and genders.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed my placement, both in terms of the team and the work that was being carried out at the company and its values. I would apply for a graduate role .
Yes
Make sure that your values align with the companies, as these values are very much core guiding principles in everything they do.
