Overview
Work closely together with merchandisers, material, design and marketing teams to ensure the best possible product is delivered whilst ticking all the boxes such as quality, finish, construction, cost and fit for purpose. Keep on track of all the needed samples and their ready dates as time is crucial not to face any delays.
Skills
DEFINATELY! I have enormously developed my communication skills as well as confidence to challenge vendor in order to achieve desired such as complex construction etc. i have also developed my analytic skills and critical thinking, especially when in fit sessions thinking whether this garment can be improved.
Responsibilities
Yes, I have. my manager gradually increased my responsibility instead of overwhelming me from the beginning. This way I was slowly able to adapt to the company and how things are done but also gained more knowledge as was able to work as proper employee at the end of my internship. I took initiative about the styles me and my manager worked on and she only helped when I got stuck and needed help.
Support & Guidance
I honestly received all the guidance and help I needed. I discovered I was struggling in particular field and approached people to suggest the best person to coach me in this issue and then I took advantage of the valuable coaching sessions which helped me enormously throughout my internship. No one ever rejected when I needed help and my manager even helped beforehand me asking for help in fields that she already knew I wasn't so experienced.
Culture
Everyone was really friendly, open and nice! Felt like one big family. I loved that Chiefs went around and checked in with people
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship. I felt like i have grown as a person and employee during these 10 months and I feel more confident with myself than ever before. The fact that they treated you like an employee not an intern made me feel really welcome and accepted.
Yes
Do not be afraid to apply if you do not workout actively or haven't yet got any GS clothing. That all will naturally come should you get the job. Only workout clothing I have now is from GS.
