The Role
Awesome place to work. I really enjoyed my time here and got a lot out of the placement.
After a couple of months here I really felt part of 'The Team'. From day one I was trained and required to do work that would influence lots of parts of the company, from production through to corporate sales.
My manager gave me a lot of freedom, once I'd been shown how to do some work I was left to manage it by myself. If i ever needed any advice or guidance all I had to do was ask.
At the start of my placement there were times when I ran out of work to do. However after about six months I was able to plan my time effectively to get work completed on time, within working hours.
Soon after starting at the company, I was given ownership of a number of long-term projects to develop and manage. Included in these are monthly KPI updates, weekly forecasts and running internal promotions campaigns.
Working at Ford Motor Company has helped me to develop in many areas. From hard skills such as using Excel and SharePoint to soft skills such as telephone manner and networking. Working here has allowed me to meet many good people and has given me access to a wealth of business experience at a young age.
The Company
The offices are a bit dated but you get a large amount of desk/personal space. The Head Office offers many facilities, from a large canteen through to squash courts.
As it was the first time interns had been taken on for a while, there was no structured framework to how an internship would look. This resulted in a lot of flexibility, allowing for a much more rounded experience.
The Company offers a £200 bonus fund to encourage you to learn non-work related skills. Be it driving lessons or gym membership.

The Culture
Lots of graduates and other interns live in the local area. Brentwood offers a good nightlife and great train links into central london.
Living close to work can be expensive but the healthy wage packet more than covers any expenses.
For any TOWIE fans, Brentwood is the home of Sugarhut so the nightlife is decent and celebrities are often in the area.
It depends what you're after. There's numerous football teams, sqush matches and even a local wakeboarding lake.
