Overview
Working independently during the internship; negotiating the deals and selling products to real customers. Managing my own geographical area and visiting local cafes or newsagents to increase the distribution of PepsiCo's products. Also rotating around other areas of the sales team completing individual and group tasks such as Ecommerce, Out of Home, and Grocery.
Skills
Developed my presentation skills significantly as I was required to do multiple presentations each week within a short time frame. Improved my commercial awareness as I got the taste of business operations within a multinational company. Learnt a lot about sales skills.
Responsibilities
Not given much responsibility as a lot of the work was based on learning about the business in workshops. Had one week out in the field selling to independent stores/pubs/cafes where I was given my own list of clients so a fair bit of responsibility there.
Support & Guidance
Received a lot of support from my line managers in particular. Everyone in PepsiCo is very willing to help and reach out.
Culture
Great company culture. Everyone that I spoke to seemed to love their job and they all had great things to say about their co-workers and the atmosphere in general.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone throughout my internship. My line managers certainly made this experience as enjoyable as it could be.
Yes
I would encourage them to research a lot about the companies values prior to the Assessment centre as it is something PepsiCo value a lot. I would also encourage them to reach out to employers on LinkedIn asking for advice on any presentations they may have to do in the application.
