Overview
Daily morning team meetings with my team, as well as weekly one to ones with my allocated mentor, working on simulations and researching the project I was doing. Working on the final report.
Skills
Professional skills such as better time management, networking with other people (online of course) in order to research into the background behind my project, better organizational skill.
Business Insight
The placement was mostly focused on main project, and did not involve a lot of research into all the different parts of the business or potential roles, as one was there more for the personal development and creating links to people within the company, and the company investing their time into you for your future at the company
Culture
Being an online placement (with only a few days in the office) it was difficult to get an idea of how people would usually interact in a normal environment, however online there was a strong emphasis on regular catchups with the rest of your team and making sure people are doing well.
Your Impressions
Ups and downs due to the online environment, having had online classes all year at uni made it quite tiring to be on PC all day, however did get to meet a lot of people and was a lot more interesting on a day to day basis than university
Yes
Make sure to ask well in advance where the placement will be, especially due to covid all placements were online and as a result it was not necessary to move, unlike planned
