Overview
It was very laid back, and not stressful at all. Initially there were a lot of seminars, technical presentations, etc. After those were over the work became very slow. The tasks we were assigned (e.g automation task) where very easy, but impossible to put into practice due to the limitations of the remote computers we were using.
Skills
I learned a lot of relevant professional skills, such as how to host and schedule meetings, host discussions, keep track of calendar and emails, etc. In terms of technical skills, I did not learn or improve existing skills.
Responsibilities
We never actually handled any cheque related issues ourselves, we only shadowed other employees. We were given a lot of information in order to complete our automation task, and even granted read only access to a database replica, so it was mixed.
Support & Guidance
My line manager was very helpful and responsive throughout the whole thing, and the other interns were also very helpful.
Culture
It felt very friendly and inviting and I felt supported and respected.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed how the job wasn't stressful at all and was pretty easy. This was also dissapointing as I wanted to apply some of the skills that I've learned.
Yes
If completing the technical path brush up on a lot of technical concepts such as OS, and algorithms and whatever you state on your CV. The selection only seems to happen on the interview phase so focus on that.
