Overview
The insight day for Bank of England was informative and insightful. We heard from current apprentices who shared what a typical day would look like as an apprentice and they also offered their helpful tips along the way. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] also shared with us a presentation on the application process and what to expect at each step. We also heard from the different societies and how diverse the bank was.
Skills
I definitely took away how important it was to ensure every stage of my application process was to be completed meticulously. One of the apprentices discussed how important time management is when it comes to the online tests. As a result I am in the midst of preparing for those tests by taking numerical tests. I was also struck by how confident the apprentices were and I am now taking that on board.
Business Insight
Very interesting. There are lots of options and decisions to make before joining as a Bank of England apprentice. For instance there is the level 4 apprenticeship, but also the level 6 apprenticeships in different areas. For me I liked how clear [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was on the different routes and how the entry requirements for each one differed.
Culture
This was particularly impressive. We heard from the different societies from people who either ran them or were involved in them. The Bank of England is a diverse place and I saw the different networks like the muslim network for example which was unique. Many places should be looking towards the Bank for inspiration on how to celebrate diversity
Your Impressions
I throughly enjoyed the insight day and will take a lot of tips on how to prepare for each stage of the application process. The Bank seems an exciting place to work and a place where someone like me would thrive.
