Overview
Ecomm finance placement - Sales Reporting - Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports on Sales ans various Ecomm Metrics - Sales Forecasting - Update budget on a monthly basis to reflect more accurate phasing of metrics based on current trends and planned events - Sales and Returns processes -Ad-hoc Analysis e.g Delivery and Shipping, how different brands are performing
Skills
-Better understanding of accounting ans industry -Analytical skills, learning how to perform analysis and reports on Microsoft Excel -All interpersonal skills, TJX provided me with a great opportunity to really improve upon my presenting skills
Responsibilities
Throughout the 12 months my responsibilities increased gradually. Responsibility was given at my own pace, based on what managers thought was appropriate for my development. Independence and full ownership of processes/specific tasks by the end of placement. Opportunity to present to present to senior managers
Support & Guidance
Lots of training provided by dedicated L&D teams. Personal development sessions provided monthly with managers (depends on the team) however 3 compulsory PDPs/informal review sessions which look at performance vs objectives.
Culture
Different culture experience working from home. In a home environment everyone/managers are open to catching up and explaining their part of the business. In office (last month or so - at reduced capacity) - Everyone is friendly, enjoys networking and learning. They like to see placements/grads that are enthusiastic and want to learn/ask questions
Your Impressions
Really enjoyed the role, kept interesting in a fast paced environment. Would prefer to work in the office more. Would happily return as a grad
Yes
Be enthusiastic, they love people who ask questions Understand their business model - the off price retail model. Learn about their global business not just Europe - TJX Companies Go into a tkmaxx store and browse the website, get a feel for the company.
