The Role
I really enjoyed my time in Marketing within IBM, I had a very interesting job role, which could easily be expanded if I wanted more challenges and I worked with a lovely team of people. I also enjoyed taking time out of my regular role and experiencing different parts of the business and expanding my network.
I worked with a brilliant team of people, who were helpful and sociable throughout the extent of my placement. Everyone in IBM was very supportive and friendly, I built up a strong network.
I had regular meetings with my Professional Development Manager who advised me throughout my placement on my internship and guided me on my career path. I also had weekly meetings with my task manager who provided support and guidance on specific tasks, my role and advise on a career in IBM.
I always had something to do, and I had a wide team of people to work with who I could always assist with different tasks.
I looked after all internal communications in my department and owned all of the external webpage for this department of the business, where I was given freedom to adapt the content as I saw fit.
The skills I learn within IBM will be invaluable to any job I have in the future.
The Company
I enjoyed going into the office and hardly ever worked from home even though this was an option.
I learnt an incredible amount from the people I worked closely with and when I shadowed people in other departments. IBM also provide online courses to expand your knowledge on a variety of topics.

The Culture
I lived with other intern students and the IBM Intern community always had social event, on a weekly basis. My team regularly went out for dinners and drinks after team meetings and we had a couple of team days throughout the year.
Due to the Intern community, the nightlife was fun!
