    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Supported internal communications to 4,500 associates through various media channels such as an App, Intranet, and Bright Sign Screens. Worked on external communications and events. Collected and created Instagram content for our 24,000 followers and organised Covid friendly car launches and associated events. Worked on press releases with the PR team and liaised with journalists and media for certain projects.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • My communications skills improved significantly during my placement year as I developed the ability to change my language to fit to the different audiences I was aiming my information towards. I also developed my time management and motivation skills as I was working from home for some of my placement year.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement year. I was trusted with daily tasks without having to be constantly check on and some much bigger tasks. I was heavily involved with the planning of a royal visit to the manufacturing plant.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received regular support by my managers through regular 1 to 1 calls which allowed to me to express any concerns and ask questions I had on projects I was working on. I felt able to call my team whenever I needed and was also supported when I didn't understand something.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture was super friendly and very open. Around the office there was a great atmosphere and people were always friendly and chatty.

  • I massively enjoyed my placement and the environment I was working in. Having a large group of interns gave me the opportunity to meet new people and I was able to experience other areas within the business
