Overview
I had an overarching project of producing an educational paper on a key decarbonisation technology, but other than that I got involved in annual renewals, profitability reviews, ESG reviews as well as intended various client meetings.
Skills
I was able to develop crucial skills in managing my time effectively as the workload can get a bit heavy (if you choose it to be). My written and verbal skills also improved drastically.
Responsibilities
Lots of responsibility. But it depends entirely on what you want to get out of the internship. Proactivity was key to getting the most out of the internship, with colleagues naturally being busy.
Support & Guidance
My whole team provided lots of support throughout, but only because I actively reached out to them which is important to do I feel. Its a fairly fast industry and people are busy.
Culture
The culture is very good and is probably the most important aspect for longevity and the main reason I enjoyed my time so much. Everyone I spoke to were more than welcome to share their knowledge and support to me.
Your Impressions
I loved my internship and would recommend it to anyone. Once the offices open up I can imagine the experience being even better
Yes
Ask lots of questions, be curious, question the status quo, speak to other interns about what work they're doing in their teams to get a broader perspective.
